SPRING FISHING

PREVIOUS PAGE

HERE IS SOME METHODS I WILL USE

  • Soaking sucker with custom quick strike rigs.
  • Trolling suckers slowly over new weed growth with custom quick strike rigs and slip bobber sets.
  • Casting small slammer baits or other minnow type baits is always a good choice to start with.
  • Twitching small cranks is the go to pattern when the conditions are less than perfect.
  • Glide baits are also a very good choice. The side to side action makes it hard for a muskie to pass up an easy meal. Great locator bait.
  • Slow trolling larger crank baits will produce some large fish in spring but they are few and far between.
  • Casting bucktails has produced some early fish but they must be active for this to work. Most of the time the fish will not move to quick in spring.
